The
South Metropolitan Education Consortium is organized to foster
new and enhanced educational services and programs to citizens, businesses
and other institutions in the region. Through institutional collaboration,
the Consortium emphasizes the development of instructional models and
delivery systems that will give students and employers access to higher
education and training opportunities in the most effective means possible.

Health Care Committee - collaborating with other regional entities to explore and implement strategies to reduce the shortage of health care workers in the Southland region.
Hispanic Student Retention Project - working with regional community, social service and faith based organizations to facilitate the increase in recruitment, retention and graduation rates of Hispanic students.
Institutional Research - works to support Consortium members goals and mission through data acquistion and analysis.
Library Committee - proposes projects to share library resources among the Consortium members.
Marketing Committee - works to promote Consortium members through collaborative advertising and marketing initiatives.
